Annual Career Development Roundtable

The BSD PDA Seminar Commmittee announces the 2017 Career Development Roundtable event with mentoring & networking just for postdocs. There will be seven tables set up each with a different faculty member to discuss a specific topic relevant to the postdoc and beyond. A small group of postdocs will spend 30 minutes with each faculty and we will rotate the groups for a total of 3 seatings. After the discussions, we will provide lunch and an opportunity to network further until 1pm.

2016 BSD PDA Postdoctoral Research Symposium

The BSD PDA Symposium organizing committee is pleased to invite postdoctoral scientists and friends to attend the 2016 Postdoctoral Research Symposium on October 18th at Knapp Center for Biomedical Discovery (KCBD) auditorium, the University of Chicago.

The symposium features a keynote address by Dr. Leroy Hood (President and Co-founder of the Institute for System Biology) and a career development panel on management and leadership.

Newly Elected PDA Leadership

At the BSD PDA Steering Committee, new leaders were elected in several positions:

John Leonard, PhD was elected President. He served as Vice-President over the past year and is also a myCHOICE liaison for postdocs. 

Kristy Hentchel, PhD was elected Vice-President. Kristy is also the new Co-chair for Outreach in the Teaching & Outreach Committee and a member of the Public Affairs Committee.
